Remembering a Great Man

Yesterday morning my family headed out to the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City to visit my Grandpa's grave. We cleaned it and decorated it with flowers. Some days I still cannot believe that I live in a world where my grandpa is not here, he was such a huge part of my life. I will forever miss him. It is such a blessing to have the knowledge that he does not lie in that grave we visit, only his body. His spirit will someday be reunited with his body and I will see him again. What a blessing!!!

I am grateful for this Memorial Day (yesterday) for the men and women that were willing to fight for this country. Even if I don't believe everything they were fighting for was always a just cause. I am especially grateful that my Grandpa served because while serving in Rapid City, South Dakota he met a beautiful woman that I now call my Nana and had a beautiful daughter I now call Mom.
