Day 4:

With this Sunday being my honey's 25th birthday I am grateful for my hard working husband. He is great dad, that loves his baby girls and they love him back equally as much. Since I picked this day for my hubby I am going to tell you our real story. All the drama, all the tears, and all the love. Here we go:

If you have read our about us section then you know the basic outline of mine and Trevor's life together. You know when we met, how we met, when we got married, and that we brought two little lives into this world so far. So here is the stuff between the lines. In 2006 when Trevor and I met I had a "boyfriend" serving a mission for our Church. When this boy left I was committed to the waiting game. It was heartbreaking, he was my first love and you know how those can be.

Anyways after about a year I had decided to stop dragging myself around in a depression and kind of move into this place where I kind of shut all my feelings off. So when Trevor and I met in Primary we had fun, he made me laugh, roll my eyes, ya know all that silly flirtatious stuff. I was actually feeling again!!! He had received his mission call by the time we started hanging out so I never thought anything serious of the situation and neither did he. We both just wanted to have a good time hanging out. I was so not thinking anything of this situation, that the one time Trevor tried to put the moves on me and kiss me, and I politely declined. Sunday's were always an interesting event. There were times I thought we were causing more of a distraction in Primary than the children, while Trevor tried to be charming and overly confident ;) and it just made me giggle. Even though during the few months we spent together we had a lot of fun the closer it got to him leaving the more the reality of me missing him became real, even though I had tried to prevent that by not kissing him!  :)

Corn Maze

This last weekend Trevor and I headed up to St. George for a few different reasons but mostly because I just love St. George! We spent total about a day up there, we got up there on Friday afternoon and stayed the night with my grandparents and left town Saturday afternoon. While we were up there we went to the Staheli Farm, there is a corn maze and a petting zoo and a pumpkin patch. My girls were particularly fond of the animals and I was particularly fond of the entire experience.

Fall Catus'

I know what you are thinking, since when have cactus' ever been associated to fall? Well to that I answer.......... Welcome to Southern Nevada!!! We are not within the lucky other parts of the world that are graced with beautiful autumn colored leaves that cover the ground. Instead we are forced to decorate what we have, cactus'! So on Thursday, Trevor (who got off work surprisingly early, YAY), the girls, and I met up with their Aunts and cousins at the Ethel M's Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden! I had heard of this place before but had never visited it. It was a lot of fun, we got to try  some chocolate, which was wonderful, and then we took a little walk through the garden. I pretty much forgot to take pictures till the very end so here are some photos!

Welcome home Brother!

My brother in law Paul Just got home from his mission in Chihuahua, Mexico on August 3rd! It's been so exciting to have him back!!! The last time I saw him I was just about to marry his brother and I was definitely not a mother of the cutest twin girls ever! We all greeted him as he arrived off of the plane! Cindy and I even made all the kiddos t-shirts for the occasion, since the only two that were even born were Emjae and Julieand even then Emjae was 1 and Julie was like 7 days. So basically he was coming home to 2 new nieces and one new nephew but 5 total kiddos that didn't have a clue who he was!!! So Emjae's shirt said "Are you my uncle Trevor?" and Julie's shirt said " Are you my uncle Erik?" and then Erick, Audrey, and Riley's shirts said "Are you my uncle?" It was pretty fun, not to mention Cindy and I learned a few things about iron ons!!! Paul, of course, loved them............. right Paul!!!

The quaint little town of Keystone

When we went to South Dakota we stayed in a little town called Keystone, which is the home town of my Great Grandpa! I love this little town, there are so many memories of my own childhood here, from the times when I would come to visit!

Vintage!!!

If you know this inside joke you can imagine how I am saying "Vintage." It makes me laugh just thinking about it! So funny. Anyway on to the actual purpose of the post! This is the Keystone house where my Great Grandpa Clifford grew up and he and my Grandma Carolyn bought it and restored it. I wish I had the before pictures because they really did a great job from how bad of condition it was in. Most of the cut little vintage furniture is from my great great Aunt Margret!

South Dakota

Through the 4th of July my family was in South Dakota. South Dakota? I know what you are thinking. What a random vacation spot! Well, it is the home to my Great Grandpa Clifford and my Grandma Carolyn. They are the two people in the metal chairs in the picture below. The 5th of July was my Great Grandpa's 90th birthday so the majority of our small family came out to celebrate with us! The only ones really missing were my cousin Jaymi and her husband Eric and their two kids Max and Will.

Just a little background on my Great Grandpa. He was the youngest man to work on Mt. Rushmore at the age of 17 and he is now the last living man that ever worked on it. Since he still lives near Mt. Rushmore he is basically a local celebrity! It was so fun to have the girls up there to be with their GREAT GREAT grandpa! As many of you already know I just love when my girls get attention, it makes me feel like a proud momma. So when I got attention for them in South Dakota I proudly shared that they were not only adorable twin girls but in fact the adorable twin great great granddaughters of the last living man that worked on the monument they were visiting! It was a pretty special experience!

Update on the carb intake

A few weeks ago I said that I was cutting out carbs, well I have stuck to it since then! I am super proud of myself! I am really not sure how much weight I have actually lost, I weighed myself about a week and half ago and I was almost down 10 pounds, so I am guessing I am down close to 15 pounds I am also glad to report that even though I do miss certain carbs, this diet change has not killed me and I am finally feeling like I have control, like I can make a difference! It has been a good change. I am still working up the motivation to workout, every week I promise myself I will but every week I have disappointed myself. I will do it eventually though! haha

carbs

This is my official first week without carbs. Why am I doing this you might ask, well I need to shed some pregnancy weight and more than that if I can really stick to it. I do not plan to do the no carb thing for too long but it is a good way to shed some weight fast. I pretty much think I have enough carbs in storage for a little while. So after a few months I am going to start adding in good carbs, and only once a day. For instance, if I want oatmeal that is my good carb for the day, or if I want pasta I will have wheat pasta for dinner. It will require more planning on my part, but a plan is never a bad thing. It hasn't killed me thus far, which is really a blessing I usually don't do well with "diets" but this is a lifestyle change!I am already seeing a difference. I just need to be better at planning meals that I don't need carbs with. Hopefully I will be sticking to this.

I will be adding a workout plan sometime soon too. I will update about my progress in a few weeks!!!

Wetlands Adventure

Me and the girls ( Audrey in the back and Riley in the front)

After a busy weekend with not too much time to play. We decided to take a little trip to the Wetlands Park by the Silver Bowl with our good friends Nate and Sarah. None of us had ever been there so we figured it would be kind of a fun little get away. I always kind of knew what was at the Wetlands Park but I really had no idea how much water was there! It was so nice to be around water it felt like being on vacation. The girls were so tired during our walk that they were in and out of sleep during the whole thing!!! But it was fun to take them on a little walk.

Audrey and Riley

This is a much needed update!!! I have been slightly busy lately and have fallen behind!!! I could say that it is my new years resolution to keep up to date on my blog but I’m not entirely sure I can keep that resolution. Blogging is hard to keep up on when you don’t have internet at your place of residence, but don’t worry I beg Trevor for it on the daily!!!

Our Anniversary Weekend

I'm playing catch up today!!! Trevor and I have been married a year August 15th, woohoo!!! It has been one eventful year but has really made us grow together as a couple. So for anniversary we kinda spread it out over the whole weekend. I had been bugging Trevor to take me to raising canes for a while now, so he surprised me and when we were out running errands on Saturday he took me to raising canes.

Coolest / Freakiest thing ever.........

Last night I was rubbing some stretch mark stuff on my belly and one of my babies started kicking which is not unusual but it was really freaky because I had never actually seen it as it was happening. So I sat there for a good 2 minutes and watched my belly move every time my little one gave it a good kick. It was one of the most entertaining things ever! Although Trevor would say that I am easily entertained, I am just fascinated by the idea that there are TWO lives growing inside of me!!! I'm so excited to be a mom, it is truly what I was created for!!! Yesterday we were coming home from my family reunion and discussing what features of ours we wanted our children to have and it was just funny to hear each others reasoning's. For instance, although I love Trevor's manly hands and strong jaw line, I'm not thinking I want our sweet little girls to have those masculine features. We both decided that we hope they his skin for multiple reasons, first off I can tan to save my life, and my skin is SUPER sensitive. Here I'm supposed to have this beautiful glowing pregnant skin and I'm having breakouts like I was in high school. I thought my acutane usage a few years ago was supposed to tame that!!! Not to mention 3 minutes in the sun leaves me with a sunburn for like a week. So we decided on Trevor's skin (without the farmers tan) because we definitely get a say!!! :)
